“Accept Pride or Be Cancelled”: Jasmine Paolini Issues Ruthless Ultimatum, Hints at Targeting Silent Tennis Stars

Posted on July 3, 2025

In a stunning escalation of the culture war hitting professional sports, Italian tennis sensation Jasmine Paolini has drawn a hard line in the sand—either you stand with Pride Month or you’re part of the problem. The 28-year-old, who recently became a household name after her French Open final appearance, took to social media to deliver a scathing, no-holds-barred message that is already sending shockwaves through the tennis world.

> “WOKE is not an insult. It’s a belief in equality,” she wrote. “If you refuse to acknowledge Pride Month, I’m done with you. No partnerships. No promotions. No fake smiles. Boycott mode activated.”

Paolini’s blunt stance, paired with her declaration of an outright boycott of anyone who stays silent on LGBTQ+ rights, has ignited a powder keg. Her message—laced with passion, politics, and unmistakable defiance—also included what fans are calling a thinly veiled attack on a famous female tennis star who has historically refused to publicly support Pride.

Though Paolini didn’t drop a name, speculators believe the comment was aimed squarely at Iga Swiatek or Aryna Sabalenka, both of whom have sidestepped LGBTQ+ discussions in recent months despite pressure from fans and media alike.

> “You don’t get to enjoy the benefits of the sport, the platform, the applause—if you can’t even support love and identity,” Paolini added.

The post lit social media on fire. Supporters praised her for her raw honesty and unwavering commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. “She’s putting values over endorsements. That’s rare in this game,” one fan tweeted. LGBTQ+ advocacy groups quickly lauded her courage, calling it a “historic moment of allyship in elite tennis.”

But others weren’t nearly as impressed.

Paolini’s message was quickly met with backlash from critics accusing her of intolerance masked as progressivism. Some called her statement authoritarian, arguing that forcing people to support a cause or face public blacklisting crosses the line from advocacy into coercion. Conservative commentators labeled her the “face of woke extremism in tennis,” while others warned of potential locker room divisions and corporate fallout.

Still, Paolini showed no signs of backing down.

> “I’m not afraid of consequences,” she said in closing. “I’m afraid of silence.”

At a time when many athletes are choosing to “stay neutral” to avoid controversy, Paolini has done the opposite—she’s weaponized her platform. Her message was not a gentle nudge. It was a demand.

And with it, she may have just lit a fuse under tennis’s carefully managed image of harmony and political caution.

One thing is certain: Jasmine Paolini didn’t just serve a statement.

She served a warning.
