Despite falling short in the finals, Filipino tennis sensation Alex Eala continues to make waves on the international stage, securing a runner-up prize of €30,000 (approximately ₱1,700,000) — an amount that marks a 2.3% increase from the previous year’s payout.

The 19-year-old rising star captivated fans throughout the tournament with her aggressive baseline play and powerful forehand, dispatching higher-ranked opponents en route to her second consecutive finals appearance. Although she ultimately fell in a hard-fought match, Eala’s performance reaffirmed her place among the brightest talents in women’s tennis.

Tournament officials confirmed the prize money boost, citing increased sponsorship and higher ticket revenues this year. “Alex has been a crowd favorite,” one organizer shared. “Her matches have drawn impressive viewership both in-stadium and online.”

The €30,000 payday provides more than financial reward for Eala, who has spoken openly about investing her earnings into training, travel, and coaching to continue climbing the WTA rankings.

“I’m grateful for the support of everyone back home and around the world,” Eala said in her post-match interview. “Of course, I’m disappointed not to win the title, but I’ll keep working hard and come back stronger.”

Fans flooded social media with messages of encouragement, praising the young athlete’s fighting spirit and vowing to follow her journey in the next tournaments. Many noted that while she didn’t lift the trophy this time, Alex Eala’s future in tennis remains bright — and lucrative.

Stay tuned for more updates as Eala sets her sights on her next tournaments on the WTA tour.
