Patriots’ Hunter Henry Earns Honorable Mention On ESPN Ranking

Posted on July 12, 2025

here is no denying Hunter Henry’s impact both on and off the field for the New England Patriots. And others have recognized this as well.

On Friday, ESPN released its rankings for the top tight ends ahead of the 2025 season based on input from executives, coaches, and scouts. While Henry didn’t earn a spot in the top 10, he did receive an honorable mention.

“He’s aging well because speed was never his game but he’s just a good player with sure hands. Can get you 600 or so yards every year. Takes care of his body, great in the locker room,” an NFL personnel evaluator told ESPN.

Henry finished the 2024 season with 66 receptions for 674 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was Drake Maye’s favorite target despite the team’s offensive struggles, and throughout the spring and summer as they prepare for this upcoming season, it’s clear that hasn’t changed.

Specifically, any time Maye would throw an incomplete pass or an interception during practice, he would target Henry almost immediately after.

Along with Henry, only one other Patriots player has been named in ESPN’s series. Kyle Dugger received votes as one of the top safeties in the league, but it wasn’t enough to get him into the top 10 or even earn an honorable mention.
