Bruins Sign Two Forwards & A Defenseman

The Providence Bruins continue building their roster for the 2025-26 season. Today, they signed two forwards and a defenseman. The Bruins are bringing in forward Ty Cheveldayoff and Erik Middendorf, as well as defenseman Zachary Massicotte.

Ty Cheveldayoff

Cheveldayoff spent this past season with the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL. In 66 games, he had 19 points on six goals and 13 assists. He was a plus-one with a shorthanded goal and 175 penalty minutes. In two Kelly Cup Playoff games, he was held pointless but had four penalty minutes. In 2023-24, he played in two games for the Maine Mariners, scoring a goal. He was a plus-two. In seven Kelly Cup Playoff games that season, he recorded an assist and had 26 penalty minutes.

Erik Middendorf

Middendorf spent this season with the South Carolina Stingrays. In 67 games, he recorded 54 points on 21 goals and 33 assists. Middendorf was a +30 with three power-play goals and 28 penalty minutes. He also spent two seasons before his time with the Stingrays with the Adirondack Thunder. In 47 games, he had 35 points on 19 goals and 16 assists. He was a +14 with five power-play goals and 14 penalty minutes. In 2023-24, he played in 24 games with the Utica Comets of the AHL. He recorded nine points on four goals and five assists. He was a plus-five with six penalty minutes.

Zachary Massicotte

Massicotte has split time between the ECHL and AHL over the last three seasons. This past season, in 64 games with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL, he had 13 points on two goals and 11 assists. He was a -20 with a shorthanded goal and 36 penalty minutes. He also played in four games with the Belleville Senators but was held pointless and was a minus-two. In 160 career ECHL games, he has 41 points on ten goals and 31 assists. He was a -31 with two power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and 106 penalty minutes. In 27 career AHL games, he has one point on an assist. He is a minus-one with eight penalty minutes.
